Parent Course

You're not failing. The tools you were handed just weren't built for the brain in front of you. Jessica teaches a different set, and she'll teach them to you directly.

An 8-session course, built from decades of experience

Eight sessions, 30 minutes each, in person or virtual. Jessica built the course from decades of working with children and the adults who love them, and she meets you where you're at.

Workshops

Group sessions that walk parents through the core skills of Conscious Discipline®: staying regulated yourself, reading what's actually driving a meltdown, and teaching children the self-control they haven't learned yet.

One-to-One Coaching

Private coaching by phone, email, or in person. Bring your real situation. Jessica will help you work through it, not just hand you a script.

What you'll work through together

Taming the Family Jungle

Brain-smart strategies that build real cooperation, instead of compliance that disappears the moment you leave the room.

Managing Big Emotions

Self-regulation is a skill, not an instinct. Jessica estimates at least 4 in 10 young children haven't learned it yet, and shows you how to teach it.

Power Struggles

A five-step process for defusing the standoffs that eat up your day, covered in a single three-hour session.

Setting Limits Without Guilt

Moving from fear-based discipline to love-based limits, without losing your authority in the process.

Two longer formats are also available for families who want to go deeper: a five-week series on The 10 Principles of Positive Discipline, and Parenting by the Book, a monthly group that meets over eight months.

“Jessica has revolutionized our lives by giving my husband and me critical tools using the Conscious Discipline® framework.”

Questions parents ask

How do I get my child to listen without yelling?

Start with your own calm. A child in the middle of a meltdown cannot think clearly, and yelling makes that worse. Conscious Discipline teaches adults to regulate themselves first, connect with the child, and then teach the skill the child is missing. Jessica's Parent Course walks you through those steps for your own family.

What is Conscious Discipline?

Conscious Discipline® is a trauma-informed, brain-based approach to behavior created by Dr. Becky Bailey. It focuses on building self-regulation and connection instead of relying on rewards and punishment. Jessica trained directly with Dr. Bailey and became South Carolina's first Conscious Discipline Certified Instructor.

How does the Parent Course work?

The Parent Course is eight sessions, 30 minutes each, in person or virtual. Jessica built it from decades of working with children and the adults who love them, and she meets each family where they are.

Can I work with Jessica if I don't live near Charleston?

Yes. The Parent Course is available virtually, and one-to-one coaching is available by phone and email as well as in person.

Should I choose a workshop or one-to-one coaching?

Workshops teach the core Conscious Discipline skills in a group. One-to-one coaching is private and built around your real situation at home. If you are not sure, contact Jessica and she will help you choose the better fit.
