Background that's actually run a classroom
Jessica started as a preschool teacher in 1980 and co-founded Sunbow Preschool two years later. She went on to direct Vienna Baptist Children's Center, an NAEYC-accredited program, for 19 years, work that was later cited in two books on early childhood leadership. She's held board and officer roles with the Northern Virginia and Virginia Associations for the Education of Young Children, and has advised child care centers directly, not just from a podium.
That center-director background is why her coaching centers on what's realistic for a working classroom: brain-based strategies for the moments that actually derail a day, like power struggles, tattling, and transitions, not abstract theory.
National Speaking
Jessica has presented at the NAEYC National Conference and speaks for organizations across the country, bringing the same warmth and directness she brings to a single classroom to a room of a few hundred educators.
Her talks are grounded in Conscious Discipline®. She trained directly under Dr. Becky Bailey, founder of Conscious Discipline, and stays closely connected to that community.
